About Confirmation

Come, Holy spirit, come

No one can confess "Jesus is Lord," without being guided

by the Holy Spirit. - 1 Corinthians 12:3b    gnt

Class

Studying your faith is a key to any Sacrament.  What do we believe?  Why do we believe it? What do we do with our faith and why? What is all of this about?  Here is where you can have these and many more questions answered and usually you will find your true self as you seek.

Community

Being part of a community is one of God's greatest blessings for those who believe.  People teach us. Groups include us. Teams build us.  All for the good of our character and souls.  When you open your heart to the family of faith, you will meet God in ways you never thought you could.

Action

Putting your faith into action is the universal call to go and make disciples.  Having encountered Christ through study and worship should motivate you to act.  To share your gifts, to help those in need, to mentor the young... these are the work of a true disciple of Christ.

John 15:8

“By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be my disciples.”

In the Sacrament of Confirmation, the baptized person is "sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit"

and is strengthened for service to the Body of Christ.

Confirmation:   SPRING 2006

The Celebration of the Sacrament at the Mass

When is Confirmation?

Our Area Faith Community has a tradition of celebrating Confirmation somewhere between early March to late April.   It depends upon the schedule that our Bishop and Pastor decide upon.

What time is the Mass?

Generally, our AFC Confirmation Mass is held at a variety of times;

10am, 2pm, 6pm, have all been possible.

Again, that time may very do to the pastoral schedules.

Where is the Mass at?

With two parishes, we alternate locations each year.

2026 will be held at St. Anne's in Wabasso.

The Coming of the Holy Spirit in Confirmation

All of you are Christ's body, and each one is a part of it.  In the church, God has put all in place.
- 1 Corinthians 12:27-28a         gnt

The coming of the Holy Spirit during Confirmation is exactly that; a confirmation that you choose to follow the ways of Christ.  This is why it is extremely important that you, with a sincere heart, seek to know what the Body of Christ has for you and your life.  A life spent following the scriptures, traditions, and direction of the Holy Spirit, is truly why Jesus chose to die for our sins.  Why wouldn't we choose to follow a Savior and the good that he has brought into the world?
